If you are a hands-on HR professional who loves the variety, pace, and personality of an independent business – and who wants to feel the direct impact of the work they do – this could be the most rewarding role of your career so far.
Salary
The on target earning potential for this role is £55,000 per annum– comprising a base salary of £45,500 per annum plus a qualified estimate of £9,500 per annum in gratuities and service charge. Please note this is a projected tronc and OTE.
What is in it for you?
- Inclusion in the Tronc scheme, covering Rooms and F&B service charge, plus bonus.
- 30 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
- Bravo Broadwick – our bespoke reward and recognition scheme celebrating birthdays, work anniversaries, and exceptional service.
- Pension scheme, season ticket travel loan, cycle-to-work scheme, and Medicash health plan.
- Great food and drink during your shift.
- Support from our Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing initiatives.
- Refer a friend bonus (£1,000 for chefs / £500 for all other roles).
Why You?
As People & Development Manager at Broadwick Soho, you will be at the heart of the operation – a visible, trusted, and energising presence for the managers and teams you support. Reporting to the Director of People & Development, this is a highly operational role that demands adaptability, sound judgement, and a genuine love of working closely with people at every level of the business.
You will be the person managers turn to when they need guidance, coaching, or simply a clear head in a busy moment. You will walk the floor, build real relationships, and earn the confidence of the people around you through your consistency, your warmth, and the quality of your advice. You will coach and guide operational managers and heads of department through people processes – from performance management and colleague relations to absence monitoring and wellbeing – helping them feel equipped and confident in people management.
You will also play a key role in developing the People & Development Executive, investing time in their growth and coaching them to take on greater responsibility and to support more independently across the function.
You are someone who is full of ideas and always looking for better ways of doing things – but equally comfortable working within the company’s policies, procedures, and values. You understand that in an independent business, flexibility and adaptability are not just useful – they are essential. And you will embrace that with enthusiasm.
Your Role
- Coach, guide, and advise operational managers and heads of department on all people matters – building their capability and confidence as people managers.
- Support managers through the performance management process, using Korero to ensure meaningful conversations are conducted regularly and that teams are continuously supported, developing and growing.
- Guide and coach managers through colleague relations matters, sickness and absence monitoring, repetitive absence triggers, and reliability concerns in line with ACAS good practice and company policy.
- Develop and coach the People & Development Executive, building their skills and confidence to assist and support more independently.
- Champion a positive, approachable, and visible presence for the P&D department – one that colleagues feel comfortable approaching and managers’ trust.
- Ensure LQA service standards are embedded and alive across the business through targeted training and development initiatives.
- Oversee payroll processing in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining meticulous records and ensuring all people data is logged correctly for compliance and audit purposes.
- Assist with the talent acquisition process, working alongside the People & Development Executive to drive proactive recruitment and support the hiring of talented colleagues.
- Assist with the delivery of engaging, well-organised and seamless onboarding experiences, and plan and facilitate the monthly company induction day.
What do we need from you?
- Experience in a similar HR or People Manager role within a luxury hotel or premium hospitality environment.
- A natural coach and communicator – someone who builds trust easily, listens well, and gives clear, practical guidance.
- A genuinely hands-on approach – comfortable being present on the floor, accessible to managers, and involved in the day-to-day operation.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how great people operations directly impact business performance.
- A creative thinker who brings new ideas and energy, balanced with a respect for company policies, procedures, and ways of working.
- The flexibility and adaptability to thrive in an independent, fast-paced business where no two days are the same.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- A confident, energetic, and collaborative team player who leads by example and finds genuine satisfaction in the success of the people around them.
