HGV Technician / Mechanic
Location: Staveley, Derbyshire
Pay: £23.00 per hour
Overtime: Time and a half after 45 hours worked per week
Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Every other Saturday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
Alternative hours or shift patterns may be considered for the right person.
Richard Lester Transport Ltd is looking for an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to join our workshop team in Staveley.
We operate a fleet of over 40 trucks and trailers and are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can help us keep our vehicles maintained to a high standard.
Scania-trained technicians would be ideal, but we're happy to hear from mechanics with experience working on other makes and models.
Main Duties
- HGV and LGV inspections, servicing and repairs
- Trailer inspections, servicing and repairs
- Routine maintenance and preventative repairs
- Vehicle and trailer safety inspections
- MOT preparation and presentation
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems and electrical systems
- Breakdown support when required (workshop vans provided)
- Truck bodywork repairs and fabrication work
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with DVSA standards
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence preferred
- A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
