We are a residential care home based in the heart of Littleover. We specialise in supporting individuals with Mental Health needs. We are only registered for 17 clients, and therefore have a very personal and friendly approach and atmosphere.
Responsibilities
You will need to:
- provide personal care and support for adults who may have some physical and sensory disabilities, and occasional challenging behaviour.
- assist the manager and his/her deputy to carry out duties to ensure the smooth running of the care home within the legal requirements of CQC.
- undertake key working with service users living in residential care home.
- liaise with other health or social care professionals involved in service user’s care.
- to support service users in all activities of daily living- Planning their day, supporting to appointments and to local community, supporting with washing and laundry.
- Engage with service users to maximise their full living potential and supporting them with achieving their goals.
- to complete accurate and precise daily reports of service users progress.
You will required to be flexible in your working patterns to suit the needs of the service, including working night shifts (as waking staff & sleepover cover), and on weekends and Bank Holidays. This is essential if you wish to be considered for this position.
Qualifications
You do not need to have previous experience of working as a support worker (though it will be helpful), but you will be required to complete all of the mandatory training that is required within the role. You will also need to have an up to date DBS certificate (which we can help you apply for).
You must have a good standard of spoken and written English, and have a right to work within the UK. You should also be based in Derby, or be looking to relocate to the area.
Above all you will need to have a patient and caring nature with excellent interpersonal skills, so that our service users can receive the highest level of care.
Rate of Pay is effective from 1st April 2026.
