Mobile Plant Operative (Construction and Works)
Hours: 45 Hours Per Week, Mon – Fri, 08:00 – 18:00
Contract: Temporary (ASAP Start)
Location: Hinckley, LE10 3ED
Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour
We are recruiting a Mobile Plant Operative (Construction and Works) to operate mobile plant and construction equipment safely and efficiently while supporting site operations. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with previous experience operating mobile plant or similar construction equipment within a construction, industrial, waste management, or environmental environment.
About the Role:
As a Mobile Plant Operative, you will be responsible for operating plant and construction equipment safely and efficiently while supporting day-to-day site activities. You'll work as part of a team to maintain a safe and organised working environment, following site procedures, operational instructions, and health and safety requirements at all times.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Operating mobile plant and construction equipment safely and efficiently on site
- Carrying out daily checks and basic maintenance of plant and equipment
- Following site safety procedures, risk assessments, and operational instructions
- Working safely around colleagues, vehicles, machinery, and members of the public
- Reporting equipment faults, hazards, and operational issues promptly
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working area
- Following instructions from supervisors and site management
- Complying with company policies and relevant health and safety legislation
- Working as part of a team to support safe and efficient site operations
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and experienced operative with relevant mobile plant or construction equipment experience.
You'll ideally have:
- Valid eligibility to work in the UK
- Relevant and valid licences, qualifications, or registrations required for the role
- Previous experience operating mobile plant or similar construction equipment
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures and site instructions
- Willingness to complete the required company induction and compliance checks
- Ability to attend and pass an in-person interview, if required
- Experience working in waste management, environmental services, or similar operational environments
- Experience working on large industrial or construction sites
- Additional relevant plant operator qualifications or training
