Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Plumbing-Led Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative to join our maintenance team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing repairs and supporting a wide range of maintenance tasks across our facilities. Your mechanical knowledge, hands-on skills, and proactive approach will ensure our buildings operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The Role
You will primarily carry out plumbing repairs, replacements and maintenance across domestic properties, alongside general property maintenance work where required.
Work is organised, scoped and managed by our office. You will not be expected to chase work, quote customers or raise invoices.
Typical plumbing work includes:
- Identifying and repairing leaks
- Replacing taps, wastes, traps and isolation valves
- Toilet repairs, including fill valves, flush valves and internal components
- Replacing toilets, basins and other sanitaryware
- Repairing and replacing sections of domestic pipework
- Bath, shower and sink repairs
- Shower replacements and minor shower faults
- Radiator replacements and heating-related plumbing works
- Clearing minor blockages
- Silicone, sealing and finishing works
- Investigating plumbing faults and providing clear site updates
- General repairs and maintenance within domestic properties
What We’re Looking For
- Strong practical plumbing experience
- Good all-round property maintenance skills
- Experience working within occupied and vacant domestic properties
- Able to diagnose faults and recommend appropriate repairs
- Hard-working, dependable and punctual
- Takes pride in completing work correctly the first time
- Good attention to detail and finishing standards
- Able to follow instructions and work independently
- Comfortable working as part of a wider maintenance team
- Positive attitude and willingness to undertake varied work
- Comfortable using a job management app and providing updates, photographs and measurements
- Full UK driving licence and use of your own van
- Own tools and appropriate PPE
Relevant plumbing qualifications would be beneficial, although proven practical experience and a strong standard of work are essential.
This Role Does Not Suit Someone Who
- Only wants to undertake plumbing work and is unwilling to complete general maintenance tasks
- Wants to work casually or inconsistently
- Cuts corners or rushes jobs
- Lacks attention to detail
- Requires constant supervision
- Does not provide clear updates or job photographs
- Is unwilling to follow company systems and job instructions
Pay and Earnings
- £20–£25 per hour, depending on experience
- Paid monthly
- Fuel contribution where applicable
- Consistent, full-time workload
