Key Requirements
We are seeking an experienced practice-based Accounts Senior with strong technical accounting skills and hands-on experience preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience preparing limited company accounts under FRS102(1a) and FRS105
- Experience preparing corporation tax returns
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT returns and personal tax
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines independently
- Experience using Xero (desirable)
- Payroll, CIS and P11D experience advantageous but not essential

The Role
This is a varied role involving accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and tax compliance work for a broad portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and colleagues, taking responsibility for delivering high-quality work to manager review stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of limited company year-end accounts (FRS102 and FRS105) to Manager Review stage using TaxCalc
- Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns using Xero
- Preparation of management accounts
- Preparation of sole trader accounts and Directors’ personal tax returns
- Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting and business queries
- Assisting with payroll when required
- Supporting wider general practice services across the client portfolio
Person Specification
- Strong technical accounting background gained within practice
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- Able to work independently and use initiative confidently
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues
- Positive, professional and client-focused approach
