Vehicle Damage Assessor – Fix Auto Bournemouth
£40,000–£50,000 per annum | Full Time | 42.5 Hours Per Week
Fix Auto Bournemouth is looking for an experienced and qualified Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our accident repair centre team. Fix Auto is a leading independent accident repair network, trusted by insurers, manufacturers and drivers across the UK. You will be responsible for accurately assessing and estimating vehicle damage, working closely with insurers, engineers and the workshop team to ensure every repair is correctly authorised and costed from the outset.
What you'll be doing:
- Assessing vehicle damage on-site and remotely, producing accurate estimates in line with insurer guidelines
- Estimating using Audatex and completing invoicing via Auda Invoice
- Referring to work provider documentation to ensure estimates and invoices comply with the specific requirements of each scheme
- Obtaining repair authority from insurers and engineers
- Creating job cards with correct repair methods attached
- Imaging vehicles at each stage of the repair process
- Coordinating with the parts department to ensure correct parts are ordered in line with the estimate
- Liaising with customers by phone and in person, keeping them updated on repair status
- Updating online insurance systems and communication logs on the management system
- Updating insurers and engineers as requested throughout the repair process
- Working closely with the workshop team and other departments to support smooth workflow
What we're looking for:
- A current and valid IMI, ATA, or equivalent qualification in vehicle damage assessment
- Proven experience producing accurate estimates using Audatex
- Experience completing remote estimates from images as well as on-site assessments
- Strong understanding of insurance repair guidelines and work provider requirements
- Ability to interpret and apply scheme-specific documentation across multiple work providers
- Confident and professional communication skills when dealing with customers, insurers and engineers
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, leakage-free estimating
- Good IT literacy and experience updating management and insurance systems
Desirable:
- Experience using GT Motive
- Experience working within a BS10125-accredited or insurance-approved repair centre
- Familiarity with Auda Invoice or similar invoicing platforms
