We are looking for a caring, accurate and dependable Qualified Pharmacy Dispenser to join our friendly pharmacy team.
This is a patient-facing role in which you will support the Responsible Pharmacist and your colleagues in delivering safe, efficient and person-centred pharmacy services. You will build positive relationships with patients, listen carefully to their needs and help ensure that every person is treated with dignity, sensitivity and respect.

Key responsibilities
You will:
- Receive, prepare and assemble prescriptions accurately and efficiently under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Follow standard operating procedures, legal requirements and appropriate pharmacy protocols.
- Select, label and dispense medicines safely, referring clinical queries and concerns to the pharmacist.
- Carry out appropriate accuracy and expiry-date checks within the limits of your role and competence.
- Support the safe sale and supply of pharmacy and over-the-counter medicines.
- Provide courteous, person-centred service by listening to patients and adapting your communication to their individual needs.
- Recognise when a patient needs advice from the pharmacist and make an appropriate and timely referral.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy and dignity at all times.
- Manage stock, including ordering, receiving deliveries, rotation, storage and date checking.
- Maintain accurate records and help keep the dispensary clean, secure and well organised.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, dispensers, counter colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Raise concerns promptly if you identify a possible error, safeguarding issue or risk to patient safety.
- Contribute to an open, supportive culture of continuous learning and improvement.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent recognised UK qualification in Pharmacy Services/dispensing.
- Has experience working in a community pharmacy or a comparable dispensing environment.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a consistent commitment to patient safety.
- Is caring, approachable and able to build trusted relationships with patients.
- Communicates clearly, listens actively and checks understanding.
- Remains calm, organised and professional in a busy environment.
- Works effectively with others and is willing to support the wider pharmacy team.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
- Recognises the limits of their knowledge and competence and seeks support when required.
- Uses sound judgement, takes responsibility for their work and is comfortable speaking up about concerns.
- Is willing to maintain and develop their knowledge through relevant training.
- Has the right to work in the United Kingdom.
Experience using Titan PMR, handling monitored dosage systems or supporting NHS or Private Services would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Hours required: 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, some Saturdays (9am to 12pm)
Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
