Hours: Full-time / Part-time available
Shift Pattern: Days, evenings, nights, weekends , bank holidays (rota based)
Pay: £13.21 per hour day shifts, Night Wake: £127.10 Night Sleep : £77.05
We are a small, friendly mental health residential care home providing person-centred support to adults with mental health needs. We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our dedicated team.
This role requires flexibility, as shifts include evenings, waking nights, weekends, and bank holidays on a rota basis.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, your duties will include:
- Providing personal care where required, including support with washing, dressing, and hygiene
- Supporting residents with daily living skills and promoting independence
- Administering medication in line with MAR charts and company policies (training provided)
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation, including daily notes and incident reports
- Supporting residents with mental health needs, emotional wellbeing, and positive coping strategies
- Assisting with appointments, activities, and social engagement
- Supporting residents during evening and night shifts, including regular checks and ensuring safety
- Working in line with care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, managers, healthcare professionals, and families
- Maintaining a safe, calm, and supportive environment at all times.
Job Specification
Essential:
- A caring, patient, and respectful approach
- Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and care plans
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting dignity and respect
Desirable:
- Experience in a mental health, residential, or care setting
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
- Medication administration experience
- Understanding of mental health conditions and recovery-focused care
