My son (22) is wheelchair bound and does not speak verbally and is doubly incontinent. He needs full care. Based in Sandbanks. You will get him up out of bed, provide personal care, dress him, feed him.
Also go for walks, entertain him by speaking to him. (he understands)
You need to be physically fit as minor handling is involved. You will be self employed and paid by BACS, you will need a licence (or bike to get here) and need a basic qualification in care. BTEC or otherwise.
DBS essential - as well as right to work in UK.
Details
For young disabled adult in Poole, L is non-verbal, and wheelchair bound, he requires feeding, changing (nappies) and washing. Full training given.
We would welcome Filipino or Thai applicants due to language training from main carer.
Hours - 69 hrs/week
Mon/Tue - 7am - 11.30am, break 3.30pm to 8pm
Wed - 7am - 9.30am, break 3.30pm to 8pm.
Thu/Fri - 11.30am, break 3.30pm to 8pm
Sat/Sun - 8am - 8pm
You will have the following.
· Experience in a care home or ‘care in the home’ setting
· Right to remain or British passport with UK bank account.
· Be used to hoisting and using wheelchairs.
· DBS check.
