MTA Digital is growing, and we're building out our leadership team to match — this is a newly created role, not a replacement, reporting into Hannah, our General Manager.
About Us
MTA Digital is one of the few print businesses that genuinely does both small-format and large-format work under one roof, from business cards and leaflets through to large-format print and installations. We're a close-knit, family-run team based in London.
The Role
Running the day-to-day of our factory floor from production scheduling, quality, managing the production team and working closely with our Installation Manager and Hannah, our General Manager.
What you'll be doing
- Day-to-day management of the production team on the factory floor
- Scheduling and prioritising jobs across small-format and large-format print runs
- Quality control and troubleshooting on press
- Overseeing our print processes — HP Indigo and toner digital presses, plus our EFI wide-format press — directing and instructing the factory floor team on press
- Overseeing print finishing across both small and large format — guillotining, folding, saddle-stitching and laminating
- Instigating cross-training across the production team to build a more flexible, multi-skilled floor
- Line management: performance, holidays, day-to-day people management for the production team
- Working closely with the Installation Manager to keep production and installation schedules aligned
What we're looking for (essential)
- Solid hands-on experience in small-format print production
- Experience managing or supervising a production team
- Practical, hands-on experience operating small and large format kit — e.g. Zund, guillotine, folding and saddle-stitching equipment, HP7800, Vutek wide-format press and laminating equipment
- Good knowledge of HP Indigo, toner press, and EFI wide-format print processes — enough to instruct, troubleshoot and oversee factory floor staff (you won't be required to run the presses yourself)
- Explicit knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) for reviewing artwork and prepress files
- Right to work in the UK
Great to have
- General understanding of imposition and prepress principles across both small and large format work
- General technical skills — colour management, preflighting, and job costing/MIS systems (we use PACE)
This is a genuine opportunity to shape a newly created role in a growing, family-run business.
