About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing construction business. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth across construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the construction sector.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, developers, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Generate and manage a pipeline of opportunities to achieve sales and growth targets.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and tender submissions.
- Attend networking events, industry exhibitions, and client meetings.
- Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project delivery teams to ensure successful project handovers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities using CRM systems.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and contribute to business planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the construction industry.
- Strong network of industry contacts and knowledge of construction procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build long-term client relationships and identify commercial opportunities.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience within main contracting, fit-out, refurbishment, civil engineering, or facilities management sectors.
- Knowledge of public and private sector tendering processes.
- Relevant construction or business qualification.
