Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and supporting the overall financial administration of the organisation. This role offers flexible hours suitable for individuals seeking part-time employment with a focus on precision and efficiency. Experience with recognised accounting software is essential, and familiarity with programmes such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero will be highly advantageous. The successful applicant will play a vital role in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records using recognised accounting software Xero
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger entries to ensure accuracy
- Assist with preparing financial reports and summaries as required
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Collaborate with external accountants during audits or financial reviews
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations
- Organise and file financial documents systematically for easy retrieval
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within a similar organisation
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a part-time schedule
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and external partners
- A recognised qualification in accounting or finance is desirable but not mandatory
