Job Overview
This role is Monday - Friday, 9 am to 5pm and involves no personal care, management of medication or any other regulated activities.
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team, providing vital assistance to individuals in need of support within their daily lives. This role involves working closely with adults, fostering their development, independence, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a nurturing and proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives.
Please note this role requires candidates to hold a valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle to transport service users in.
Duties
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to maintain a habitable home. For example, completing laundry, washing dishes and making beds, ensuring terms of their tenancy is being adhered to and bills are being paid (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to maintain personal hygiene. For example, verbally prompting individuals to shower, change clothing, ensure nails are cut, teeth are cleaned etc. (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to manage and maintain nutrition. For example, supporting to complete weekly shopping, menu planning and preparing meals (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to maintain a habitable home. For example, completing laundry, washing dishes and making beds (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to manage toileting needs. For example, ensuring sanitary products are available, toiletry products are available and the bathroom is hygienic to use (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to be appropriately clothed. For example, completing laundry, verbally prompting individuals to ensure their clothing is appropriate for the weather and/or occasion (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to make use of their home safely. For example, appliances are turned off when not in use, the home is in a good state of repair (and how to report this if it is not), that there are not any unnecessary fire risks (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to develop or maintain family or other relationships. For example, providing opportunities for safe contact, being alert to exploitation and abuse, ensuring contact is in their best interests (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to maintain a habitable home. For example, completing laundry, washing dishes and making beds (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to access and maintain work, education or training. For example, support to seek out opportunities, support with applying for opportunities, support to travel to get to and from opportunities (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to make use of necessary facilities or services in the community. For example, support to access medical appointments, liaise with any benefits providers, access support from services such as the citizens advice bureau, metal health support, drug and alcohol rehabilitation support (this is not an exhaustive list).
- To support individuals and promote their independence as far as possible to carry out any caring responsibilities. For example, support to look after pets, children, relatives or anyone else the individual may have a caring responsibility for (this is not an exhaustive list).
- Promote individual’s wellbeing wherever possible.
- Assist residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities. To help in the use of and care of aids and personal equipment.
- Help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of individuals through talking to them, taking them out, sharing activities such as reading, writing, hobbies, and recreations.
- Read and write reports, ensuring records are accurate and kept safe and confidential. Take part in staff meetings for the individuals we support, as well as training activities as directed.
- Perform all procedures within your duties with due regard to the food hygiene, health and safety legislation, and infection control requirements.
- To recognise and know how to report safeguarding issues.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with partner agencies, people important to the people we support and any other persons in contact with our service or the people we support.
- Knowledge and implementation of all company policies.
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
