Drainage Operations Supervisor
Salary: £38,000–£42,000 per year, dependent on drainage experience, skills and qualifications.
Quarterly profit bonus scheme, subject to company performance, successful probation and scheme rules.
Location: Office based
Whilst the role is primarily based at our head office, travel to operational sites will be required. Therefore, flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.
Working hours : This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
CDC Draincare is an experienced drainage company specialising in blocked drains, drain unblocking and drain clearance for domestic and commercial customers. With decades of hands on experience, we pride ourselves on reliability, longstanding customer relationships and getting the job right the first time. From minor blockages to major drainage issues, our team knows how to deal with problems properly and professionally.
We are looking for an experienced Drainage Operations Supervisor to support our busy drainage team. Applicants must have practical drainage industry experience and be confident supporting engineers, reviewing completed works, identifying follow-on remedial works and using job management systems to coordinate daily operations.
Key Duties
- Book planned drainage works and coordinate the engineer's diaries.
- Brief engineers on planned jobs and ensure they have the correct equipment, PPE and job information.
- Support engineers with difficult or complex drainage jobs.
- Quality checking of job sheets, photos, notes and CCTV reports.
- Identify and communicate follow on works, remedial repairs or further investigations from completed jobs.
- Participate in the on-call rota and act as on-call manager when required.
- Code and review CCTV drainage reports.
- Deliver Toolbox Talks and promote a strong Health & Safety culture in compliance with the company's Health and Safety ISO systems
- Liaise with the compliance team on training, audits and documentation.
- Book engineer training and support holiday planning.
- Arrange fleet servicing, repairs, MOTs and chase vehicle progress.
- Support RAMS, permits and site paperwork where required.
- Liaise with customers, engineers, suppliers and internal teams, and provide job updates.
You will report directly to the head of operations and work closely with the planning team to support the day-to-day coordination of drainage works.
Person Specification
We need someone who is experienced, organised, safety-conscious and willing to get stuck in. This is not just an office based booking role, you must understand drainage works and be able to support engineers, so jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience within the drainage industry.
- Good knowledge of blockages, jetting, CCTV drainage surveys and remedial works.
- Experience supervising, coordinating or supporting engineers and field teams.
- The confidence to give practical guidance to engineers on drainage jobs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Confident using job management systems, we use BigChange.
- Good IT and administration skills
- A good understanding of Health & Safety standards.
- A reliable, safety-conscious and professional approach.
- A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
- NRSWA / Streetworks Supervisor qualification.
- CSCS card (Supervisor level preferred).
- Full UK driving licence.
