Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, primarily using HGV 1 lorries for delivery purposes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills to ensure timely deliveries across various locations. The ideal applicant will have prior experience in commercial driving and delivery operations, with a keen eye for detail and adherence to road safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, in compliance with all legal and company standards.
- Safely load, secure, and deliver goods to designated locations within specified timeframes.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs.
- Follow all health and safety protocols during loading, transit, and unloading processes.
- Plan routes efficiently to optimise delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules or any unforeseen delays.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transportation.
- Previous experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively during deliveries.
