About the role
We are looking for a reliable Warehouse Operative with a valid or previously held counterbalance forklift licence to join our growing company within the metal recycling sector. This is a varied, hands-on role involving general warehouse and metal recycling activities, alongside some forklift duties such as loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
· Loading and unloading vehicles using a counterbalance forklift truck.
· Predominantly working day-to-day with metal recycling and warehouse operations.
· Moving, organising, and handling materials safely across the site.
· Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
· Following site procedures and health and safety requirements at all times.
· Working closely with colleagues to support efficient operations.
About you
· You have previous counterbalance forklift experience and can demonstrate safe operation.
· You have held, or currently hold, a counterbalance forklift licence.
· You are practical, reliable, and comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment.
· You have a positive attitude and are willing to support a busy team.
· You can follow instructions carefully and work safely around vehicles, materials, and machinery.
· Previous experience in metal recycling, waste, industrial, or warehouse environments would be advantageous.
Working hours
The role operates on a shift pattern, with working hours of 6am to 3pm and 11am to 8pm. Flexibility to work both shifts will be required. Some overtime available at peak times.
Pay rate
Pay starts from a base rate of £12.83 per hour, with the overall rate flexible depending on relevant skills, experience, and any agreed skill enhancement.
