Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpet Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining carpets in a variety of settings, ensuring high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The position is paid and suitable for those who take pride in their craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare surfaces for carpet installation, ensuring precise fitting according to specifications
- Remove old flooring materials and prepare subfloors for new carpet fitting
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and secure carpets effectively
- Install carpets in residential, commercial, or industrial settings, ensuring a seamless finish
- Conduct repairs or replacements of existing carpets as required
- Follow health and safety guidelines during all phases of installation
- Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure project specifications are met within designated timeframes
Skills
- Proven experience in carpet fitting, with examples of previous experience and references.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as cutters, and staplers
- Knowledge of power tools used in flooring installation (e.g., electric cutters, pneumatic staplers)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise fitting and finishing standards are maintained
- Good physical fitness and stength to handle materials and operate tools safely over extended periods
Pay: From £31,200.00 per year
