Job Summary
This is an entry-level position within the Volanteus finance team, primarily supporting UK operations with scope to take on multi-entity responsibilities as the group grows. The successful candidate will work closely with the UK Accountant and Finance Director, handling day-to-day transactional processing and assisting with month-end and administrative finance tasks.
This is a strong development opportunity for someone looking to build a career in finance, ideally alongside a professional qualification such as AAT.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Processing supplier invoices and employee expense claims accurately and promptly
- Raising and issuing sales invoices in line with internal processes
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Assisting with credit control activity, including chasing overdue balances
Banking & Reconciliations
- Performing bank reconciliations on a regular basis
- Posting transactions to the accounting system (Xero)
- Supporting payment run preparation
Month-End Support
- Assisting with month-end close tasks including accruals and prepayments support
- Filing and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting the preparation of management account workpapers
General Finance Administration
- Maintaining the integrity of the purchase and sales ledgers
- Responding to internal and external finance queries in a timely manner
- Supporting audit and compliance activity as required
- Ad hoc tasks to support the wider finance team
Person Specification
Essential
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Organised, methodical, and reliable work style
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Willingness to learn and take on responsibility
Desirable
- Some exposure to bookkeeping or accounts processing (work experience, placement, or prior employment)
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software (Xero experience advantageous)
- Studying towards or intending to study AAT or equivalent qualification
Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
