Quality Shift Manager

ISS is a leading service provider in the UK Fresh Produce sector. Since 2014, we have grown to operate four sites across Kent, employing over 1,300 colleagues. We are now looking for an experienced Quality Shift Manager to lead our Quality team and help ensure every product we supply meets the highest standards of quality, safety and legality.
About the Role
This is a key leadership role within the Quality function. You will be responsible for managing and developing the Quality Control team, driving a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring all products meet customer, legal and food safety requirements. Working closely with Production and Technical teams, you will help maintain an audit-ready site and support the delivery of exceptional standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the Quality Control team to deliver exceptional quality standards.
- Oversee daily quality operations, including rotas, team performance and training.
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications, legal requirements and food safety standards.
- Drive quality KPI performance and investigate customer complaints, depot rejections and non-conformances.
- Oversee equipment calibration, specification management and quality documentation.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring the site remains audit-ready at all times.
- Partner with Production teams to improve quality awareness and accountability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, product trials and process development.
- Deputise for the QA Manager when required.
- Lead by example by demonstrating our company values in your day-to-day work.

What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in a Quality Management role within fresh produce, food manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing teams.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems and customer standards.
- HACCP, Food Safety and Internal Auditing qualifications (advantageous).
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
