We are seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to join our well-established and supportive team. This role is ideally suited to a vet who is flexible and able to work in both a busy hospital environment and thrive sole charge at one of our friendly, client focused branch surgeries. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering a high standard of clinical care, with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on client service. The position is a first opinion GP role and will involve a balanced caseload of both routine consultations and surgical procedures.
- Long-established Tier 3 hospital based in Bath
- On-site advanced imaging: MRI and CT
- Digital X-ray and dental X-ray facilities
- Comprehensive in-house diagnostics
- Five satellite branches with varying size and facilities

- Central referral site (Rosemary Lodge) houses Bath Veterinary Referrals with specialist clinicians and surgeons
As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
Key Responsibilities
- See our first opinion caseload, including routine surgery and consults
- Working at Rosemary Lodge Hospital and our branch surgeries
- The position is for 3 days per week plus weekends (1 in 8). An average of 30.5 hours per week.
You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:
- A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- A passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
