Position Overview:
We're hiring a HGV Class 1 Driver (Tramper), based out of Colchester, to join our growing team. The role is general haulage, delivering a variety of loads including palletised goods, ambient food products, timber and paper. Full training on specific load types can be provided where required.
We take great pride in delivering excellent customer service, so were looking for professional, friendly and approachable drivers who represent our business positively at all times.
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday // occasional Saturday's // nights out included
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: CO7 7JW (Colchester)
Salary: £16.00 p/h // £26.20 night out allowance (monthly pay)
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle
Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
Ensure loads are secure and transported safely
Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately
Comply with EU/UK drivers hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules
Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle
Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff
