Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, with a focus on food safety and preparation. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes, managing kitchen operations, and supervising kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food production and service.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to in the kitchen.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop new menu items and specials.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Monitor food production processes to ensure quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a Care Home environment.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead kitchen staff.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
- Passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.
