As the Selfridges Blow Dry Bar Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the Hershesons Blow Dry Bar within Selfridges. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on delivering an exceptional client experience, driving commercial performance, maintaining operational excellence, and leading a high-performing team.
You will act as the key link between Hershesons and Selfridges management, ensuring the space operates to the highest standards whilst embodying the Hershesons brand, culture and service expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop the Blow Dry Bar team, creating a positive, high-performance culture.
- Set clear expectations around service, behaviour, presentation and professionalism.
- Ensure the Blow Dry Bar space remains immaculate, organised, safe and fully operational at all times.
- Conduct regular floor walks and quality checks, addressing issues promptly where required.
- Provide ongoing coaching, support and performance feedback to team members.
- Support onboarding and integration of newly qualified stylists into the Selfridges Blow Dry Bar environment.
- Arrange Selfridges onboarding requirements including security and store access passes.
- Prepare rotas in line with business needs, ensuring appropriate coverage, breaks and operational efficiency.
- Monitor attendance, lateness and absence, escalating concerns appropriately and ensuring Loop HR and management are updated.
- Ensure all team members attend mandatory training sessions and complete required compliance activity.
- Maintain Hershesons grooming, dress code and presentation standards across the team.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration with the wider Hershesons management team.
Customer Experience & Commercial Performance
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience, ensuring every client receives a warm, professional and elevated service.
- Drive repeat business through exceptional service standards and relationship building.
- Lead by example on the floor, supporting the team during busy trading periods.
- Maximise sales opportunities through effective retail and treatment recommendations.
- Support the team in achieving productivity, utilisation and revenue targets.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints promptly, professionally and with a solutions-focused approach.
- Maintain strong awareness of customer flow, booking patterns and peak trading opportunities.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operational management of the Blow Dry Bar.
- Manage stylist columns within Zenoti to align with rotas, trading hours and booking demand.
- Ensure breaks, schedules and appointment timings are managed accurately within Zenoti.
- Conduct daily reconciliation between the Selfridges till system and Zenoti.
- Ensure smooth opening and closing procedures are consistently followed.
- Maintain excellent communication with Selfridges Floor Managers and store teams.
- Ensure all operational standards, policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Stock, Finance & Reporting
- Conduct daily stock checks and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Complete monthly stock take exercises and associated reporting accurately.
- Manage weekly ordering of stock and operational supplies.
- Provide accurate payroll and commission information in line with deadlines.
- Support cost control and commercial performance by minimising wastage and maximising revenue opportunities.
- Escalate operational or financial concerns promptly to management.
Health & Safety
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
- Ensure all team members are trained in relevant health and safety procedures.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks in partnership with external consultants where required.
- Ensure all accident reporting, first aid, fire safety and equipment records remain compliant and up to date.
- Report maintenance or facilities issues promptly and follow through to resolution.
About You
- Previous experience within a salon, beauty or luxury retail environment.
- Experience leading or supervising a team in a customer-facing environment.
- Strong organisational and operational management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance customer experience and business performance.
- Highly organised, proactive and solutions focused.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
- Strong working knowledge of scheduling and salon systems, ideally Zenoti.
- Passionate about the Hershesons brand, culture and customer experience.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
