Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for residents, tailored to individual dietary needs, cultural preferences, and medical requirements.
- Prepare and serve staff breakfasts and lunches.
- Follow weekly menus and adapt meals where necessary to meet special dietary needs.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required kitchen and food safety documentation.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and infection control standards.
- Manage stock levels and inform management of low supplies.
- Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met.
- Keep the kitchen and storage areas clean, organised, and compliant with inspections.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or as a chef/kitchen staff (care home experience preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of food safety standards and dietary requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Essential:
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above desirable).
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
