Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. The postholder will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality outpatient and diagnostic services, ensuring a safe, efficient and positive patient journey.
Working closely with Consultants, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Radiographers and administrative teams, you will contribute to the smooth running of clinics, uphold excellent clinical standards and promote a culture of patient safety, dignity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Patient Support
-
Deliver high standards of patient care in line with professional standards, organisational policies and CQC requirements.

Support patient assessment, care planning, delivery and evaluation under the direction of registered clinicians (HCA) or independently within scope of practice (RN).

Prepare patients for consultations, procedures and diagnostic investigations, providing reassurance and clear information throughout their visit.

Act as a chaperone where required and in accordance with policy.
Clinical Procedures & Diagnostics
Depending on role and competency, duties may include:
-
ECG recording
-
Phlebotomy
-
Wound care and suture removal
-
Observations and basic clinical assessments
-
Spirometry / lung function testing
-
Assisting with minor procedures in consulting rooms and imaging departments
-
Removing intravenous cannulae post-procedure or imaging (where trained and competent)
-
Supporting patients before and after imaging procedures including MRI, CT and Ultrasound
Clinic & Environment Management
-
Ensure consulting rooms and clinical areas are clean, well-stocked and appropriately prepared at the start and end of each clinic session.

Carry out routine equipment and safety checks, including resuscitation trolley and medicine temperature monitoring.

Monitor stock levels, check expiry dates and escalate shortages as required.

Adhere to infection prevention and control standards, including hand hygiene and ANTT principles.
Administration & Communication

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.

Accurately input patient data onto electronic systems (e.g. Meddbase), including registrations, bookings and charges where appropriate.

Liaise effectively with clinicians, secretaries, radiographers and administrative teams to ensure a seamless patient pathway.

Provide a professional, courteous and patient-focused service at all times.
Governance, Quality & Safety

Report incidents, near misses or concerns in line with governance and Duty of Candour requirements.

Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives and service development activities as required.

Maintain up-to-date mandatory training and competencies relevant to role.

Experience working in a healthcare environment.

Basic IT skills and confidence using electronic systems.
Additional Essential – Registered Nurse
-
Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
-
Experience in outpatient, ambulatory care, NHS or private healthcare settings.
-
Ability to practice independently within scope and professional standards.
Additional Essential – Healthcare Assistant
-
Experience supporting clinical teams and patients in a healthcare setting.
-
Willingness to undertake training and develop clinical competencies.
Desirable
-
Experience assisting with minor procedures or diagnostic services.
-
Previous experience in private healthcare or outpatient clinics.
-
Interest in service development, patient experience or quality improvement.
-
Mentorship or supervisory experience (Registered Nurse).
