Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering parcels and goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational ability, and strong communication to ensure timely deliveries and high customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to deliver parcels and goods to various locations within the designated area.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and timeliness.
- Load and unload items, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secure during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
- Communicate proactively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier preferred.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience with commercial driving vehicles is desirable.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, especially involving heavy lifting tasks.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Organised with excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged periods of driving or standing.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.
