At Infinitesima, you'll be building, integrating and testing advanced semiconductor metrology systems used by some of the world's leading chip manufacturers to measure structures at the nanoscale.
This isn't a traditional production environment.
You'll work on complex, low-volume, high-value systems that combine precision mechanics, electronics, optics and photonics. Every build matters, and the work you do will directly influence the performance of cutting-edge scientific instruments used throughout the global semiconductor industry.
If you enjoy solving technical challenges, working with precision hardware and taking pride in delivering exceptional quality, we'd love to hear from you.
Based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, Infinitesima is a rapidly growing deep-tech company developing next-generation metrology solutions for the semiconductor industry.
Backed by leading global investors, including Applied Ventures, we're bringing together world-class expertise in engineering, physics and software to solve some of the industry's most demanding measurement challenges.
We're looking for talented people who want to help shape the future of semiconductor technology.
- Building advanced semiconductor systems rather than repetitive production-line products
- Working with cutting-edge optics, photonics, electronics and precision mechanics
- Collaborating closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams
- Playing a direct role in product performance, reliability and quality
- Gaining exposure to technologies rarely found outside leading semiconductor equipment companies
- Joining a growing company where your ideas and expertise can have real impact
- Building and testing complex optical, electro-mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies
- Integrating critical modules into advanced semiconductor metrology systems
- Following detailed build, assembly and test procedures
- Diagnosing manufacturing and assembly issues and helping drive effective resolutions
- Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to improve product quality and efficiency
- Supporting root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities
- Maintaining high standards within laboratory and cleanroom environments
- Ensuring assemblies are delivered to quality, cost and schedule requirements
- Contributing to a safe, organised and high-performing manufacturing environment
You'll ideally come from semiconductor equipment, photonics, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, medical devices, defence, advanced electronics or another high-tech engineering environment.
We're particularly interested in people with experience of:
- Building and testing complex, high-value technology products
- Electro-mechanical assembly and system integration
- Optical systems, fibre optics, lasers or precision instrumentation
- Root cause analysis and structured problem solving
- Manufacturing quality standards and best practice
- Reading and following technical drawings, build procedures and test instructions
- Working with precision mechanical, electrical and electronic components
- Delivering high-quality work with excellent attention to detail
We'd especially welcome applications from:
- Advanced Manufacturing Technicians
- Electro-Mechanical Build Technicians
- Systems Build Technicians
- Manufacturing Technicians
- Test Technicians
- Prototype Wirers
- Assembly Technicians
- Electro-Mechanical Assemblers
- Semiconductor equipment or semiconductor manufacturing experience
- Cleanroom experience
- Optical alignment experience
- Laser-based systems experience
- Wiring and soldering to IPC standards
- Manufacturing engineering or continuous improvement experience
- Experience working with photonics, optics or metrology equipment
We welcome applications from candidates with apprenticeships, military technical backgrounds, vocational qualifications, HNC/HND qualifications, degrees, or equivalent hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, electronics, photonics or related disciplines.
If you have experience building complex technology products and want to help develop the next generation of semiconductor metrology systems, we'd love to hear from you.
Join us and help build the tools shaping the future of semiconductor manufacturing.
