We're looking for a creative, enthusiastic and caring Activities Support Worker to join our team at Cheddle Lodge and help deliver engaging activities that enrich the lives of the people we support
About the Role
As an Activities Support Worker, you will plan, organise and deliver meaningful activities tailored to individual interests, abilities and goals. From arts and crafts, music and sensory activities to community outings and life skills development, you'll play a key role in helping residents enjoy new experiences, build confidence and maintain important social connections.
What You'll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering a varied programme of activities, events and outings.
- Supporting residents to participate in activities both individually and in groups.
- Promoting independence, confidence, life skills and wellbeing.
- Encouraging community engagement and social inclusion.
- Recording participation, achievements and wellbeing outcomes.
- Maintaining activity records, life histories and personal interests.
- Working collaboratively with care colleagues and families.
- Supporting residents with mobility, meals and other aspects of daily living where required.
- Ensuring activities are delivered safely and in line with safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
- Experience facilitating activities, wellbeing opportunities or community inclusion.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to supporting others.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Commitment to person-centred support, dignity and choice.
Desirable
- Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Experience within a residential care setting.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support.
