Carnival: Saturday, 20th June 2026, 11:30-18:00 (minimum 3 hours)
Set-up: Friday, 19th June, 9:00-17:00 (minimum 3 hours)
Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to support our annual Carnival held on 20th June 2026. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the local community while gaining valuable experience in event management, hospitality, and guest services. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference and developing their skills within a supportive environment.
Roles
- Set-up: Prepare for the event
- Information tent: Provide event information, answer inquiries
- Entrance: Welcome and assist guests
- Stewards: Support area managers to oversee the area
- Volunteer tent: Provide information for volunteers
Responsibilities
- Provide welcoming and friendly assistance to visitors, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and safe environment for staff and visitors
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional hospitality and guest support
- Engage with community members, offering guidance and information about programmes and services
Requirements
- Must be aged 18 years or older
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Commitment to volunteering hours and responsibilities
- Minimum 3 hours, but flexible
Free lunch will be provided both on the Carnival day and set-up day for the volunteers.
This role provides a rewarding opportunity to develop professional skills whilst making a meaningful contribution to the community. Successful applicants will be supported throughout their volunteering experience with training and guidance.
