We are looking for a HR Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources function, ensuring the efficient delivery of HR services across the employee lifecycle. The role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, payroll administration, and general HR activities while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with employment legislation and company policies. records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with data protection requirements.
The HR Assistant supports the delivery of HR initiatives, policies, and procedures, contributing to a positive employee experience and helping to promote a culture of engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, discretion when handling sensitive information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This role is based onsite at Bournemouth Airport, and is worked 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Process employee lifecycle changes, including starters, movers, and leavers.
- Prepare offer letters, contracts of employment, and onboarding documentation.
- Assist with pre-employment checks, right-to-work verification, and reference requests.
- Coordinate onboarding activities and host new starter inductions.
- Maintain accurate employee records, contractor information and HR databases.
- Prepare HR correspondence, including letters relating to employment changes, absence, and other HR matters.
- Conduct exit interviews with leavers.
- Ensure all personnel files and records comply with data protection requirements.
- Assist with benefits administration and employee enrolment processes.
- Assist in monitoring absence, annual leave, and other employee attendance records.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR procedures.
- Schedule meetings, training sessions, and HR events.
Qualifications
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within an HR environment (essential).
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
