Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring to foster a cohesive team environment.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Prepare high-quality dishes with precision, demonstrating expertise in food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and health & safety policies.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for ingredients, and manage inventory to minimise waste.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the development of new menu items and seasonal specials to enhance the culinary offering.
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times, promoting a safe working environment.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive background in food production, food preparation, and cooking across diverse cuisines.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrable experience in restaurant or hospitality settings with a focus on high standards of service.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Experience working in fast-paced kitchens with excellent organisational skills.
- Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous.
