We are seeking a passionate and dedicated qualified Early Years Practitioner (SCQF Level 7 / Level 3) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in nurturing and developing young children’s learning and development in a safe and stimulating environment. This position requires a strong commitment to early childhood education, as well as the ability to engage with children and their families effectively.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 0-12 years.
- Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages children to explore and learn.
- Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and caregivers.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised nursery environment that promotes learning through play.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive educational approach.
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's development and addressing any concerns.
- Manage classroom behaviour in a positive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
- Be registered on SSSC.
Skills
- Working ethos to inspire and guide both children and colleagues.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, particularly in English.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
- A solid understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on children's needs.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development.
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on the interests of the children and the dynamics of the group.
- Ethos of child-led experiences both indoors and outdoors.
