The Role
At Thalia Waste Management, we're looking for a proactive Site Stores Assistant to join our team at Allerton Waste Recovery Park. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy operational environment where organisation, accuracy and teamwork are key.
You'll play an important role in ensuring our maintenance and operations teams have the right parts, tools and materials available to keep one of the UK's leading waste recovery facilities running safely and efficiently.

Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:00pm | Site Based
Working as part of our site team, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the stores function by receiving deliveries, managing stock, issuing parts and maintaining accurate inventory records. You'll help ensure our stores are well organised, compliant and ready to support planned maintenance activities and day-to-day operations.
What you'll be doing
- Receiving, checking and booking in deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Inspecting deliveries for accuracy, quality and damage, reporting any discrepancies.
- Storing materials, spare parts and equipment safely, ensuring correct labelling and stock locations.
- Issuing tools, consumables and spare parts to engineering and operational teams.
- Maintaining accurate stock records using inventory management systems.
- Carrying out routine stock checks and supporting periodic stocktakes.
- Monitoring stock levels and highlighting replenishment requirements.
- Preparing materials for planned maintenance activities and site outages.
- Safely handling and storing hazardous materials in accordance with COSHH and site procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant stores environment.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the stores function.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role, preferably within an industrial, engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using stock control or inventory management systems.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across site.
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
It would also be advantageous if you have:
- A forklift truck licence.
- A basic understanding of mechanical or electrical components.
- Experience working within a regulated or industrial environment.
