Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Skip Lorry Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely delivery and collection of skips to various locations. Working independently, you will represent the company professionally and ensure all transportation is carried out in accordance with legal and company regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving & Transportation: Operate a skip lorry to deliver and collect skips to and from designated locations. Ensure all loads are safely secured and within legal weight limits.
- Customer Service: Interact with clients on-site in a courteous and professional manner, addressing any questions and ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Compliance: Adhere to all driving laws and regulations, including the Highway Code and company health and safety policies.
- Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues to the transport manager. Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working order.
- Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately, including delivery and collection notes, timesheets, and vehicle checklists.
- Health & Safety: Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure safe operations. Use PPE as required and follow best practices for manual handling.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- License: Valid driving license and full CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Experience: Proven experience operating a skip lorry or similar vehicle.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and securing loads.
- Communication Skills: Good interpersonal skills, able to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Time Management: Strong ability to plan routes efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Safety Focused: Knowledge of and commitment to safe driving practices, health, and safety regulations.
