Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Alterations Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing precise alterations on men's suits, ensuring high-quality finishes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and experience in sewing.
Responsibilities
- Carry out alterations on clothing items including taking in or letting out seams, lengthening and shortening trouser legs and jacket sleeves.
- Operate industrial sewing machines efficiently and accurately to meet quality standards
- Inspect garments thoroughly to identify necessary adjustments and ensure proper fit and finish
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and uphold quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in sewing, alterations, or related roles
- Ability to follow written order sheet specifying garment sizes
- Ability to operate industrial sewing machines confidently
- Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic understanding of garment construction and fitting techniques
