Overview
We are looking for a receptionist to work set hours across our Montrose and Arbroath branches with holiday cover as required at our Carnoustie branch.
Hours are set as:
Mondays - 0830 -1230 in Montrose then 1400-1700 in Arbroath (1/2 hour paid travel time and 1 hour lunch break)
Wednesdays - 0830 -1230 in Montrose then 1400-1700 in Arbroath (1/2 hour paid travel time and 1 hour lunch break)
Thursdays - Montrose 0830-1400 in Montrose
Fridays - Arbroath 0900-1200 then 1400-1700
Total 26.5 hours per week.
Join our Veterinary team as a Floating Veterinary Receptionist, where you will be the first impression clients have of the practice. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional front-desk support across multiple clinic locations, ensuring smooth daily operations and outstanding client experiences. You must have a keen eye for detail and an excellent phone manner along with good IT skills as well as customer service experience.
Duties
- Greet clients warmly and efficiently check them in and out of appointments across various clinic locations
- Answer phone calls promptly, schedule appointments, and manage client inquiries with professionalism and positivity
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and updating patient records to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Support veterinary staff by preparing examination rooms, handling laboratory samples, and managing inventory supplies
- Coordinate appointment flow to minimize wait times and enhance client satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of reception and waiting areas at all clinics to uphold a professional environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless communication between front desk staff, veterinary technicians, and veterinarians
- Stock control
- Cash handling and weekly cashing up
- Assist Veterinary Surgeon with restraining patients during examinations
- Ability to work alone
Requirements
- Previous veterinary experience or familiarity with animal healthcare environments is highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Strong organisational abilities to multitask efficiently in a busy setting
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinic workflows and environments
- Positive attitude with a passion for providing outstanding customer service to pet owners and their animals
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift light equipment or supplies, and work flexible hours as needed
- Full driving licence with access to a car is required for travelling across sites
Pay: £13.00 per hour
