Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Optical Manager to oversee the daily operations of our optical practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining the overall efficiency of the clinic. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of optical staff, including optometrists, opticians, and support personnel
- Manage daily clinic operations to ensure smooth workflow and high standards of patient care
- Oversee financial management tasks such as budgeting, billing, and inventory control
- Implement human resources policies, including staff recruitment, training, performance appraisals, and scheduling
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the practice’s services and increase patient engagement
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, appointments, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with suppliers to manage stock levels and order necessary optical products and equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns promptly and professionally
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within an optical or healthcare setting
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Sound financial management capabilities including budgeting and cost control
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to staff recruitment, training, and development
- Experience or familiarity with veterinary or animal-related health services is considered advantageous but not essential
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build rapport with staff and clients alike
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery
