Position: Primary Tutor (KS2: Years 2–6)
IN-PERSON, FACE-TO-FACE ROLE ONLY
We are seeking a confident, reliable, and enthusiastic Primary School Tutor to deliver high-quality Maths and English lessons to KS2 students. This role is ideal for someone with strong subject knowledge, a passion for teaching, and excellent classroom management in small groups.
What You’ll Do
- Teach well-structured KS2 Maths and English lessons (Years 2-6), filling key gaps using National Curriculum objectives
- Deliver face-to-face lessons to a maximum of 4 students per class, ensuring personalised support
- Use pre-planned lessons and resources provided by the company, adapting them where needed
- Complete simple lesson logs, assessment tracking, and weekly feedback in line with Hunter Tutoring policies
- Support 11+ preparation (Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Comprehension & Arithmetic)
- Build positive relationships with students and maintain excellent behaviour management
- Create a supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
Essential:
- Undergraduate degree (any subject considered if applicant has strong KS2 knowledge/can be working towards a degree)
- Experience tutoring or teaching primary-aged students (school or tuition centre preferred)
- Strong understanding of KS2 National Curriculum in Maths & English
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain and cover cost)
- Excellent communication skills, punctuality, reliability, and professionalism
- Passion for helping children progress academically and emotionally
- Confidence working with a variety of learners, including SEN students
Desirable:
- Currently training toward or holding QTS (e.g., PGCE, PGDipEd, Teach First)
- Familiarity with 11+ entrance exams
- Experience with small-group teaching
- Ability to adapt instruction for different ability levels

Working Hours
Primarily Saturdays and Sundays (2-4 hours per day depending on availability).
Additional weekday availability is a bonus but not essential.
