Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bursar to oversee the financial operations of our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting overall financial health. Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate payroll records using Sage software.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain general income/expenditure accuracy.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and budgets for the Board of Trustees and external audits.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts to support organisational planning.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and organisational policies.
- Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Oversee the invoice and booking system for parent's fees
Skills
- Proven experience in financial management within a similar organisation or institution.
- Proficiency in accounting record keeping.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable procedures and general income/expenditure management.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail. Ability to manage own workload.
- Ability to analyse financial data accurately and prepare reports for Trustees.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written to liaise effectively with staff teams and external auditors.
This position is integral to maintaining the organisation’s fiscal health, requiring a dedicated professional with strong technical skills in accounting and financial management practices.
Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
