Hotel Receptionist (Full-Time)
We are a small family-run 3-star hotel located on the outskirts of Chelmsford, proud to deliver a 5-star experience to every guest. We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Hotel Receptionist to join our friendly team on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about hospitality and thrives on providing outstanding customer service. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in creating a warm, professional, and memorable experience—from arrival through to departure.
We are looking for a confident and positive individual with a proven track record in customer service, excellent communication skills, and a naturally welcoming personality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner
- Managing hotel and restaurant reservations, accurately inputting bookings using the Rezlynx front office system, Res Diary and Newbridge POS
- Preparing guest bills ahead of check-out
- Handling guest enquiries efficiently and professionally
- Maintaining strong knowledge of the hotel and its facilities to confidently promote and upsell services
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a hotel reception or similar customer-facing role
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- A positive, “can-do” attitude with a genuine passion for guest satisfaction
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Working Hours:
- Minimum of 37.5 hours per week
- 5 shifts per week, including early and late shifts on a rota basis (across 7 days)
Due to the hotel’s location and shift patterns, own transport is essential.
