Job Summary
We are recruiting a 3rd Year Apprentice - Domestic Electrician to join our team. This position is a demanding role that offers valuable hands-on experience in residential electrical installations and maintenance, providing a stepping stone towards becoming a fully qualified electrician. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced electricians, assisting with a variety of electrical tasks in domestic settings. This paid apprenticeship position is ideal for individuals committed to developing their skills and knowledge within the electrical trade.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic electrical systems
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and instructions
- Ensuring all work complies with current electrical safety standards and regulations
- Supporting the team in testing electrical circuits and systems for safety and functionality
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment at all times
- Learning to identify electrical faults and assisting in troubleshooting issues
- Adhering to health and safety policies at all times during on-site work
Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (City & Guilds)
- Practical experience with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, etc.
- Familiarity with power tools used in electrical installations (e.g., drills, saws)
- Basic electrical experience gained through previous training or employment
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong commitment to health and safety procedures within a construction environment
- Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills in domestic electrical work
