Role Overview
The Seamstress assistant is a key role within our atelier, where you will work three days a week with our senior seamstresses, aiding them with precise construction and finishing of couture garments. This position focuses on learning couture craftsmanship skills alongside helping deliver the highest standards across bespoke and collection pieces.
The role offers the opportunity to refine sewing techniques within a couture environment and contribute to the creation of exceptional garments.
Key Responsibilities
- assist in the construction of garments to a high couture standard, following patterns and technical guidance.
- aid in both hand sewing and machine sewing techniques
- Assist with assembling toiles and final garments for fittings.
- Support the finishing of garments, including hems, closures, linings, and delicate detailing.
- Ensure a clean, organised workspace and proper handling of materials.
- Support wider atelier tasks as required.
Skills & Attributes
- experience working within a fashion house
- Competent sewing skills, both by hand and machine.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
- Organised, reliable, and professional in a studio environment.

This role offers the opportunity to further develop couture sewing techniques and craftsmanship within a highly specialised atelier. Progression and increased responsibility will be based on skill level, consistency of work, and contribution to the studio. As the brand grows, there is potential for advancement into freelance roles within garment construction and couture production.
Pay: £25.00 per day
