Job Title: Mechanical Fitter (Days Shift - Including Weekends)

Salary: Circa £39,000 + Overtime (1.5x Rate)
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at a busy paper mill in Milnthorpe. This is a days-based role operating on a varied shift pattern, including weekend working, supporting the continuous operation of a high-volume production facility.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all mechanical systems

Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns to minimise downtime

Diagnose faults and perform repairs on a wide range of plant equipment

Work on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, rollers, and hydraulic systems

Support continuous improvement initiatives and reliability projects

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations
Shift Pattern:

Days-based role with a rotating shift pattern

Includes weekend working as part of the roster

Flexibility required to support operational demands
Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Proven experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment (paper mill experience desirable)

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Experience working with rotating equipment and mechanical systems

Good understanding of health & safety procedures

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
