Multi Trade Joiner – Social Housing
Our client is looking for a versatile and reliable Multi Trade Joiner to join their team, working on social housing projects across Skelmersdale and the surrounding area. You will carry out a wide range of hands-on installation, repair and finishing tasks in occupied properties, with joinery as your core trade alongside broader multi-skilled duties.
This is a field-based role, with a company van and fuel card provided, that requires flexibility across multiple trades and a strong focus on customer service, quality and health and safety. You will represent the client in occupied properties, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, respectfully and to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out Multi Trade tasks including:
- Joinery works including first and second fix, door and window repairs, kitchen and general carpentry tasks
- General building maintenance and remedial work
- Minor plastering and making good following repairs or installations
- Basic plumbing tasks (pipework adjustments, repairs, fitting or replacing taps, valves and connections)
- Prepare and protect customer homes before works, including moving and safeguarding furniture, floors and belongings
- Perform internal quality checks and provide photographic / written evidence to ensure compliance with company and industry standards
- Ensure sites are left safe, clean and tidy, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Travel daily to sites across Skelmersdale and further afield as projects require
- Communicate effectively with tenants and colleagues to ensure smooth project delivery
- Report any issues, risks or delays promptly to the project manager
- Follow all health & safety requirements and ensure safe use of tools, equipment and PPE
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Joiner, with the ability to turn hand to plastering or building maintenance tasks
- NVQ Level 2 minimum in Joinery, Plastering or Building Maintenance
- UKATA Asbestos Awareness certification
- Ability to complete tasks across a range of general building and social housing works
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CSCS Card
- Strong health & safety awareness with ability to work safely in occupied homes
- Good organisational skills and ability to work independently
- Customer focused approach with strong communication skills
Desirable
- Additional trade qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds)
- Experience working on social housing or retrofit projects
