At the beautifully renovated Pinewood we are seeking a dynamic and passionate Sous Chef to join our small but talented kitchen team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of food quality.
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on collaboration and excellence.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail, maintaining consistency across all menu items.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper handling of ingredients at all times.
- Manage food production processes, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize efficiency.
- Support training initiatives for new team members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative dishes that align with current culinary trends and guest preferences.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a high end restaurant or hospitality setting. (Rosette experience preferable but not essential)
- Extensive kitchen experience with a strong background in food preparation and modern cooking techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.
- Sound understanding of all kitchen legislation & regulations including HACCAP & COSHH
- Strong understanding of culinary arts combined with excellent communication skills
- A passion for hospitality that drives exceptional guest experiences through quality cuisine and attentive service.
Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
