Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to lead and oversee complex electrical systems and projects within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in electrical engineering principles, system design, and project management, with a strong focus on innovative solutions and technical excellence. The Senior Electrical Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our electrical engineering initiatives.
Duties
- Lead the design, development, and realisation of complex electrical systems, ensuring alignment with project specifications and organisational goals.
- Oversee system architecture development using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks to produce detailed schematics and layouts.
- Conduct root cause analysis on electrical failures or system inefficiencies to implement effective corrective actions.
- Manage the integration of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM microcontrollers, firmware development, and signal processing techniques to optimise system performance.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless system design incorporating surface mount technology (SMT), soldering, debugging, and mechanical knowledge for robust solutions.
- Utilise simulation tools such as Simulink and MATLAB for modelling system behaviour and validating designs prior to implementation.
- Develop detailed schematics and documentation using CAD software; ensure compliance with industry standards for electrical safety and quality assurance.
- Supervise testing procedures including debugging, soldering, firmware updates, and verification of surface mount components.
- Lead root cause analysis initiatives employing Python and Perl scripting to automate diagnostics and data analysis processes.
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time while maintaining high standards of technical excellence.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies such as System-on-Chip (SoC) integration and surface mount technology advancements to incorporate best practices into ongoing projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical engineering with a focus on system design, firmware development, or related fields.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical components including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM processors, microcontrollers, and surface mount technology (SMT).
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation; experience with SolidWorks is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in root cause analysis using MATLAB or Python scripting tools.
- Familiarity with schematic design principles and tools; ability to interpret complex schematics accurately.
- Experience in debugging hardware/software issues through soldering, firmware updates, signal processing techniques, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Knowledge of mechanical aspects related to electrical systems is advantageous for integrated system design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while leading a team of engineers effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to present technical information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
