About the Role
We are looking for compassionate, reliable and motivated Support Workers to join our supported accommodation service in Birmingham.
You will support vulnerable individuals to develop independence, maintain their accommodation and work towards positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents with independent living skills, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting and attending appointments.
- Provide emotional and practical support while encouraging independence.
- Support residents with housing, benefits, healthcare and other relevant services.
- Complete accurate records, support plans, incident reports and other administrative tasks.
- Ensure accommodation is safe, clean and well maintained.
- Carry out regular welfare and property checks.
- Work with social workers, healthcare professionals, local authorities and other agencies.
- Respond professionally to challenging behaviour, conflicts and emergency situations.
- Promote safeguarding, dignity, respect and residents’ wellbeing.
- Follow organisational policies and procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence – essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A caring, patient and professional approach
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Basic IT and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Support Worker, Housing Support Worker or similar role
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
- GCSE or equivalent
