We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team at a busy and fast-paced venue. You will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen team by ensuring equipment, crockery, utensils and kitchen areas are kept clean, organised and ready for service. Your contribution will help the kitchen operate efficiently while maintaining our high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including washing and sanitising crockery, cutlery, utensils, equipment and work areas.
- Kitchen Support: Provide effective support to the kitchen team during busy service periods, ensuring clean equipment and crockery are readily available when required.
- Waste Management: Empty and manage kitchen waste safely and responsibly, ensuring bins and waste areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Stock & Organisation: Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and keeping kitchen storage areas organised and well presented.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all company hygiene, health & safety, food safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring safe working practices are maintained at all times.
- Standards & Attention to Detail: Identify and address areas requiring additional cleaning or attention to ensure the kitchen consistently meets company standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with chefs, management and the wider team to support the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen.
Requirements
- Eligibility: Proof of right to work in the UK and a UK bank account in your name.
- Communication: Able to converse in English and follow kitchen procedures, cleaning schedules, instructions and company standards.
- Location: Have a fixed place of residence and live within a reasonable travelling distance of the outlet.
- Experience: Previous kitchen porter or hospitality experience is preferred, although full training will be provided.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, hardworking, self-motivated and able to remain calm and productive during busy service periods.
- Teamwork: Able to work effectively as part of a busy kitchen team and support colleagues when required.
- Physical Requirements: Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and carrying out regular cleaning, lifting and other physical tasks associated with the role.
