Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Live-in Chef to provide exceptional culinary services as part of a team in a busy pub kitchen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the rest of the team with preparation and during service. This role offers an opportunity to showcase your previous experience and team work while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hospitality. The Live-in Chef will be available for work 6 days out of 7. There are various positions requiring specific skills:
Grill Chef
Commis Chef/Chef de Partie
Fryer
Duties
- Assist with prep for the day for home cooked meals and for your own station
- Keep your work area clean and tidy
- Assist with meal preparation to order, ensuring quality and presentation standards are maintained
- Assist with kitchen deliveries
- Observe food safety protocols, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
- Work along side the other kitchen staff or assistants, co-operating and providing guidance and supervision as required
- Assist with any other duties required
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
- Serve meals in a professional manner, ensuring excellent hospitality at all times
- Collaborate with front of house team to accommodate specific dietary needs and allergies of guests
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a professional setting such as restaurants or hospitality establishments
- Supervising experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage
- Strong background in food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage food service efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
- Experience in supervising kitchen staff is advantageous
- Knowledge of various stations is preferred
- Previous experience working as a chef in a pub or restaurant kitchen or similar settings is beneficial
